English-born Anne Robiette has lived in Loches since 1989. Originally trained as a scientist, she had her first solo watercolour exhibition in 1985 and began painting full-time in the 1990's. In 1995 she opened the first art gallery in Loches, named Plantagenet to symbolize the historic link between England and the Loire Valley.
During her time in France her style has developed in response to her environment : the intensity of the light, the brightness of the colours, the texture of the stone. Her street scenes are full of movement and life. Apart from her painting in the Loches area, she has painted extensively in other countries, especially Italy, and also paints still life, flowers, and cats.
